Big Weekend for Food

This past weekend was a big food weekend for Phin.  The biggest thing for us (and this is really huge if you know all that we've been through with feeding issues over the past year) is that he is taking most of his liquids on his own from a straw cup!  (That means hardly any bottles!)  On Saturday he also finished transitioning to whole milk.  No more formula!!  Saturday morning he shocked us by taking his entire serving of milk by himself out of his bear cup.  Good job buddy!

He kept up the trend of wanting to drink by himself from his cup all the way to bedtime.  Here we are reading a bed time story.

A few other things he got to try and loved:

1. Dannon drinkable yogurt - he's only had plain regular yogurt so this was a sugar-filled tasty treat that he couldn't get enough of.  Thank you Costco free samples.

2. Onion rings - hands down the most favorite food he's ever eaten.  He was so excited he would reach out his mouth and start chewing before he even got a piece.

3. This last thing I don't know how much he loved, but he did get to taste his first ice cream.  Check out the video:

Last Day of Break

Today was my last day of spring break.  The weather was very cooperative and it was the warmest day we've had so far - 55 degrees and blue skies.  Since it has been so cold this winter, it almost felt like it was 80.  We went to the park and Phineas got to play on the playground for the first time this year.  He had a great time on the swings and was smiles the whole time.  We are definitely going to spend lots more time there this spring!  Here's a video of our happy little guy and some pictures.

Rainy Day Reading

Today was quite a rainy day so Phin spent time doing his favorite thing, reading books.

Sweet Baby

We are enjoying our time off and spring break.  If only the weather knew it was spring time.  Here's a little shot from right before bath time tonight.

Shopping Outside

One of Phin's favorite activities right now is pushing his shopping cart around the house.  He has pushed it many, many times just about everywhere it will go.  So we have decided to take the shopping outside!

As I looked at our little boy dressed in his hat and coat (which Matt tells me looks like he is a dock worker) and pushing a shopping cart full of random toys down a sidewalk, I realized that it appears we are raising our child to be homeless.  I would like to entitle this next photograph:
"Disgruntled Homeless Baby"
(If you don't already do this, you should click on the picture to make it bigger.  His expression says it all.)

Here are a few more pictures from our walk:

I think in this picture he is wondering the same thing we all are.  "Where are all the leaves?  When are you going to be here spring??"

Xylophone

Phineas has recently become much better at playing his xylophone.  Here is one of his latest compositions.  It is still in the works.  Not his greatest piece yet, but it will give you a good idea of what he is going for.  Look for his first album to be released soon.
