First Amusement Park Rides

Recently we spent a while in Cleveland visiting family.  Phineas got to go to Memphis Kiddie Park and go on his first amusement park rides.  He does not looked very "amused" in many of these pictures.

Summer Reading

One of Phin's favorite things are his books.  Since I haven't posted in a while, I thought I would make this a little more exciting with 2 videos of him reading and some pictures! The first video is him reading his Curious George Zoo Book.  It is one of his favorites.  The second video is a new multi-tasking activity he's begun.  He loves his books and his balls that play music, so why not have a little music with your reading?  Multiple times now we've caught him reading while continually pushing the button on the balls to get them to play music. 

Happy 4th of July!

We celebrated the 4th of July this year by inviting friends over for dessert and to go see the local, and very awesome, firework show.  For dessert we had blue angel food cake (from scratch), vanilla ice cream (this was supposed to be from scratch but that was a horrible disaster that consumed most of our day, so this is last minute from Culver's), and strawberry sauce (also homemade).  Red, white, and blue!

We also had fun at the firework show.  Phin got to stay up so late! :) Here he is waiting for the fun to begin.

 

Serious Splashing

Since we are still waiting for our neighborhood pool to open up (it was being renovated), we've been hanging out in our inflatable pool.  While he's been having fun, these pictures will show you that splashing is serious business.

Waving to Kitties

Phineas has just started waving, usually with a bit of prompting.  Multiple times today he waved hello or good-bye to people without us having to lift up his hand or really try to get him wave!  While enjoying the nice weather outside, I told him to wave to his kitties in the window, and he did it!  Here are a few pictures of multiple times he did it, some of us enjoying the weather, and a video of not only the waving, but also his new favorite happy sound - screaming. :)

The Zoo

This past weekend we took a trip downtown to the Lincoln Park Zoo.  Phin's favorite animals were probably the gorillas.  The young males were very active and running around.  Phin was not the best photo taker while we were there and I feel like a lot of these pictures could be entered into a "make your own caption" contest.  He also seemed to have a lot of drool that day (molars coming in??).  We knew his shirt was wet but it didn't look nearly as bad in real life as it does in these pictures. I'm not sure why it shows up so much more in photos.

 Hey look, at least we got the giraffe to look at the camera!  There were some very exciting things going on behind us as well.
