Finally warm!

We really haven't had spring this year.  Winter seemed to drag on indefinitely and now it seems to have jumped straight to summer. Today all three of us took a walk and enjoyed the beautiful flowering trees all around the neighborhood. Phineas has a bad cold and might be going through a growth spurt so he didn't enjoy the time quite like he would normally, but he was a good sport about it. 

Rice Cereal

A week or so ago, we started trying to do one or two feedings a day with a spoon.  These are more just to get used to the feeling of the spoon/rice cereal and play around with it than actually getting any solid nutrition from it.  This is important as I feel like more of it makes it around his face than in his mouth.  However, he seems to be enjoying it so that is all that matters.  You can see here that he is very serious about his spoon and these feeding times.  It is no laughing matter.

He was being more smiley and chatty a little later on. :)

Buckeye Stickers

As promised we have a picture of the helmet stickers that Phineas will earn.  Each week that we go in for an appointment where he gets his helmet shaved down on the inside, he will get another sticker, just like a real Buckeyes' helmet. These ones are actually made to go on mini collectible helmets but they're the perfect size for his helmet.

Growling

Phineas loves lions and can even growl like one!  Check out this super cute video!  (Sorry about the angle, I had the camera propped up on the couch.)
 

Zoo

Yesterday Phineas took his first trip to the zoo.  We went to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.  He stayed awake long enough to hang out with friends from work at an event we had there but slept through a lot of the animals.  Here is a pictures with the sleeping lions (his favorite animal).  He is holding his favorite toy, Mr. Lion. He doesn't look particularly happy in this shot as the sun was in his eyes and he fell asleep a few minutes later.

My computer finally decided to cooperate.  So here are the pictures that go with the last post!  In the first one he looks pretty sad with the helmet.  He is actually more sad because I took it off to paint it and decided two seconds later that I wanted to put it back on to take a picture.  He is doing very well with it and really doesn't seem to mind it that much at all.
