Serious Splashing
It has been getting warmer and we really wanted to take Phin swimming. Unfortunately, it has rained a lot and been colder outside, making our condo pool quite chilly (as I can only guess that's why it is so cold from having worked at a pool for a long time). So instead of going into the big chilly pool, we set up a little pool in an inflatable bathtub we have. He seemed to be enjoying himself and splashing lots, though he kept his brow furrowed and face serious. This is serious splashing time. No smiles allowed. Here are some pics and a video. We think it's pretty funny that every time he splashes on his face, he drinks the water (you can see it in the video).

Fourth of July
We had some friends over to grill out last night and then went to the park to watch the fireworks. While Phin had fallen asleep before they went off, they woke him up (not really surprising). He stared at them, seemed to enjoy them, and wasn't scared at all! Happy 4th of July!

Sports Fan
Is it legal to support a Big Ten team (Ohio State) and a SEC team (Vanderbilt) in one outfit? Does it add to your crimes if you do it while being dangerously cute?
(In other big, unrelated news...the 5th tooth we've been waiting for is finally pushing its way through tonight!)

A New Friend
Last Friday, Phin had a fun time getting to know his new friend Josiah who was visiting from Rwanda. His parents are friends of ours who are missionaries in Rwanda and were back visiting Chicago.

Just Because...
Here's an extra picture/double post for today just because I think it is cute. It is a horrible picture of me, but Phineas looks so darn cute when he's sad. This is right after he put his legs in a pool for the first time.
Big Boy Highchair
On Friday night we went out to dinner and Phineas got to sit in a big boy highchair at a restaurant for the first time. It was a little big, but he did just fine.
