Last Post of the Year

This year has gone by so fast and has been filled with so many wonderful memories.  It came with its share of new and unexpected challenges, but looking back it has been more than amazing to watch little Phin grow so much in one year.  This time last year, he couldn't do much more than eat and sleep.  He weighed only 7.5 pounds at the end of month one, and he could even fit inside a stocking.  Now he's crawling everywhere, pulling up on furniture and starting to cruise.  He loves playing peek-a-boo and watching his kitties.  He wishes he could survive solely on meat and Cheerios, but enjoys veggies - like his most favorite - beets.  His smile, little voice, and laugh are constantly melting our hearts.  We feel so lucky and blessed to get to be this little guy's parents and would never want it any other way.  We are always saying to each other, "Can you believe he's actually ours?"  We are excited to see what this new year will hold for our family.

Merry (Belated) Christmas!

We hope you had a very merry Christmas.  We have been busy the past week or so with traveling to St. Louis to spend Christmas with family.  Phin had a wonderful time seeing all kinds of fun people and getting a disproportionately large amount of presents for such a little guy.  (I understand.  He's super cute.) 

Now that we are back at home, I finally have time to put some of the pictures up.  Sad story though... I visited the camera store while in St. Louis for some problems I was having with focusing.  My lens is broken and is being fixed for the next 4 - 6 weeks.  Without my lens, that means no new pictures for a long time. :(  I do have a small point and shoot camera at school that I will bring home when we start up again.  It will do what it can to take the big camera's place.  In the meanwhile...I'm going to milk the Christmas pictures for all they're worth.  Here's a taste from Christmas Eve.

 

Up, Up, and Away!

With the busyness of the holidays, we don't have much to update.  However, Phin is continuing to like climbing on things, even if there is no where to go.  

He has climbed up on his cart and is just hanging out on top.  This isn't an uncommon sight.

He also enjoys climbing stairs and is pretty quick at it.  Look at him go!  He still needs a bit of supervision and hasn't yet learned that you can't turn around and look at the view when you are in the middle.

 

Kitty in a High Chair

Who needs a dog to clean up after a baby when you have a cat?  Right?  Well, at least a cat like Cyril.  He loves when Phin eats any kind of meat and sits in front of his high chair watching for the perfect time to make a move.  Phin thinks the view is pretty funny.  After Phin had chicken a little while back, this is what happened afterwards.  Cyril was so bound and determined to find something that he crawled into the high chair.

Chirstmas Card Pictures

Last night when I realized there was an online sale for Christmas cards, we quickly took some pictures.  Phineas was quite squirmy but we got a few cute ones!

Getting Ready for Christmas

Tonight we started getting out all of our Christmas decorations, and we bought a Christmas tree!  We went out in a snow storm to buy our much anticipated Christmas tree and then decorated the house, listened to Christmas music, and watched the snow build up outside.  We have almost 5 inches so far!  It was a fun Christmasy evening.  Phineas is so excited for Christmas!

Hanging Out on a Friday Night

This post is nothing special, just some pictures of our cute little guy hanging out on a Friday night. There is also a short video of Phin just being Phin.  He is very interested in the camera, so for all of these, I kept trying to move him away to get his picture.  Each time I moved him, however, he came crawling right back.  

One funny thing that Phineas has started is that he is very jealous of anything that his baby, Marshall, has.  He doesn't care about any of the objects by themselves, but as soon as they go in the baby's mouth, he wants them.  We plan on getting a video of it soon.  Here he is taking the baby's bottle.  

Climbing

Phineas is our little explorer and has started to enjoy climbing on his shopping cart.  Here he is trying to scale the shopping cart to get to all the interesting things that lay beyond.  (For worried grandparents - know that both of us were hovering to save the day.)

Thanksgiving, a birthday party, and family

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Cleveland, Ohio.  Phineas enjoyed the turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and more!  The day after Thanksgiving, we had a family birthday party to celebrate Phin's 1st birthday.
