Reading time

Phineas loves to read books.  We are always surprised at how long he attends and how he actually looks at the pictures.  Books seem to be a very calming thing for him. Here he's reading a farm book from his great-Nana. (Notice the spread of books in the background.  He is quite the reader. )  :)

Peas!

Today Phineas had his first taste of baby food - peas!  The jury is still out. He was a bit unsure about taste but was a trooper for trying them. Yum yum!

 

6 Months of Growing

Today I have two posts, so make sure you check out both.  The other one has a whole bunch of pictures from our "photo shoot" today on his six month birthday.  However, I thought that it would be fun to look at how much he has grown in the past 6 months.

Happy 6 Month Birthday!

Today Phin is 6 months old.  We can't believe it!  Where has the time gone?  We love our sweet little boy so much.  When looking at these pictures, we can't believe how much he has grown-up.  He's looking like such a little boy.  Since I couldn't pick which pictures to put up (and this is them already narrowed down), I figured nobody would mind a few extra pictures of a cute little boy.  Happy Birthday Buddy!

 

Mr. Chipmunk

So I know everybody probably comes on here solely to see pictures of a cute baby, but today I have something else for you: our first children, the cats.  They have this best friend chipmunk who lives under our front step.  All last summer he used to come out and (we swear it really seems like this) talk to them.  The cats love him and were a little sad to see their friend/source of entertainment disappear for hibernation during the winter.  Well, he's back.  I never knew what a chipmunk sounded like or that they even made noise until Mr. Chipmunk and he never stops making noise.  Last summer he used to keep us up in the morning and one of us would sometimes go down and have to make him move off of the front step.  Enjoy the video! Pre-bath Smiles

Phineas has been an extremely happy and smiley boy this past week.  Today he was all smiles as we got ready to take a bath.

Up in the Air

Day of Firsts

Saturday was a beautiful and warm day so we went to the park.  We have taken Phin there before for short periods but this time he got to experience a number of "firsts".

It was an all around great day!

Clean baby

Just a picture of a cute face after bath time today.

Finally warm!

We really haven't had spring this year.  Winter seemed to drag on indefinitely and now it seems to have jumped straight to summer. Today all three of us took a walk and enjoyed the beautiful flowering trees all around the neighborhood. Phineas has a bad cold and might be going through a growth spurt so he didn't enjoy the time quite like he would normally, but he was a good sport about it. 

Rice Cereal

A week or so ago, we started trying to do one or two feedings a day with a spoon.  These are more just to get used to the feeling of the spoon/rice cereal and play around with it than actually getting any solid nutrition from it.  This is important as I feel like more of it makes it around his face than in his mouth.  However, he seems to be enjoying it so that is all that matters.  You can see here that he is very serious about his spoon and these feeding times.  It is no laughing matter.

He was being more smiley and chatty a little later on. :)

Buckeye Stickers

As promised we have a picture of the helmet stickers that Phineas will earn.  Each week that we go in for an appointment where he gets his helmet shaved down on the inside, he will get another sticker, just like a real Buckeyes' helmet. These ones are actually made to go on mini collectible helmets but they're the perfect size for his helmet.

Growling

Phineas loves lions and can even growl like one!  Check out this super cute video!  (Sorry about the angle, I had the camera propped up on the couch.)
 

Zoo

Yesterday Phineas took his first trip to the zoo.  We went to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.  He stayed awake long enough to hang out with friends from work at an event we had there but slept through a lot of the animals.  Here is a pictures with the sleeping lions (his favorite animal).  He is holding his favorite toy, Mr. Lion. He doesn't look particularly happy in this shot as the sun was in his eyes and he fell asleep a few minutes later.

My computer finally decided to cooperate.  So here are the pictures that go with the last post!  In the first one he looks pretty sad with the helmet.  He is actually more sad because I took it off to paint it and decided two seconds later that I wanted to put it back on to take a picture.  He is doing very well with it and really doesn't seem to mind it that much at all.
